A month in with em8e6y8igfq4ms9zahhf and I've found the right settings to make it work for me. The notification filter correctly separates priority alerts from general updates without false positives. Four stars is a fair score right now — the app is close to excellent, not quite there.

em8e6y8igfq4ms9zahhf has been my app of choice for this task since the permissions model was simplified. Embedded links in content open the in-app browser by default with no option to change it. Not the fanciest app in the category, but the most reliable for my daily workflow.
